Mrs. Simeral, a Literacy Coach and Reading Specialist in Nevada,
joined EducationHall as an independent consultant in 2005. Her educational
background in Alaska, California, and Nevada have yielded tremendous benefits,
as she is highly regarded for her work eradicating illiteracy. Awarded
the International Literacy Association’s Celebrate Literacy
Award in 2006, Mrs. Simeral has led district-level and building-level
professional development programs in dozens of locales. Her work
was instrumental in transforming several low-performing schools
into hubs of literate, thoughtful students. A stellar, energetic
presenter, Mrs. Simeral has a passion for education: “I want
to help discover and develop the potential in all students," she
states, adding "I also believe in discovering and developing the
potential in our teachers and staff." Mrs. Simeral practices what
she preaches, having written several key articles, including
the soon-to-be-published “Coaching Along the Continuum,”
which contains the heralded Continuum of Self-Reflection –
A key for instructional coaches everywhere. |
